Commons Renovation Updates
What is happening?
The HSL Commons is getting an upgrade as part of the T-Wing renovation project that’s affecting several floors of the Magnuson T-Wing. As part of this, all chairs, tables, computers, screens, etc. from the Commons/classrooms must be removed prior to May 10. This space will be unavailable to users from early May – December. We plan to set up a small lab with 3-6 computers on the second floor of the library, in T216.
When is it happening?
Construction is anticipated to begin in mid-May and last through December. Updates will continue to be available at this page.
How will HSL spaces be affected?
The testing center will be closed during this time, and the Commons area will be closed. Plastic sheeting will be up, preventing access to the Commons space. We’re still not sure about access to the 3rd floor bathrooms during this time.
There will no doubt be construction-related noise during this timeframe. However, we’ll do our best to inform everyone about impact as we get information from the construction crews.
