DNA Sequencing - Sequencher

Sequencher DNA Sequencing software, funded by the Student Technology Fee, is one of the premier platforms for assembling gene fragments and analyzing DNA sequences.

Sequencher access through HSL is limited to nine (9) simultaneous users across both Windows and Mac platforms and is only accessible on-campus or through HuskyOnNet. Licenses are dynamically allocated by the KeyServer on a “first come first serve” basis; if all licenses are in use, new incoming users can join a queue until a license opens.

Sequencher is a heavily used program, and it is not unusual for all licenses to be unavailable during peak usage hours, which are typically 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Users who are inactive for more than 30 minutes will have their license automatically reallocated and be placed at the end of the queue if all other licenses are in use.
