Am I allowed to eat or drink while in HSL?
Patrons are currently NOT allowed to eat or drink while inside of HSL. Food and drinks can be consumed outside, in the UW Medical Center cafe (link), etc.?
Is there a capacity limit? Is socially distancing required?
HSL has and will continue to closely follow guidelines set by UW Environmental Health & Safety Department (EHS) on social distancing. At current time, EHS has not recommended social distancing requirements. Should they do so, HSL will reconfigure the Library to allow patrons to effectively study while maintaining social distance.
What cleaning/disinfection steps?
HSL is following cleaning protocols set by EHS. HSL staff and the Health Sciences Education Building custodial department are regularly sanitizing high touch surfaces. Patrons are responsible for sanitizing computer workstations with provided disinfectant wipes. All physical materials returned to the Libraries are quarantined for 24 hours.
Am I going to receive a fine for materials I've had since UW closed?
Overdue fines accrued between March 6, 2020 and the day the Libraries re-open will be cancelled.
